Storms + heatwave this week. It looks like this week’s forecast is a summary of “that summer weather you want to avoid.” Hot and stormy days continue until later this week, with highs near the 90s tomorrow across Minnesota. Highest heat indices may reach 97 degrees in southern Minnesota in the afternoon. There’s a chance of rain and thunderstorms after midnight.


‘Is my son's name going to be behind a hashtag one day?’: Meet Seraphia Gravelle who’s organized marches, rallies in the Iron Range. A mom of Black and biracial kids living in the small Iron Range city of Keewatin decided to speak out for racial justice in the wake of George Floyd’s killing -- for herself and her five children. “Because I refuse to allow that to happen to my son, to his siblings, to his cousins, to his father, to his family, to any of them. I won't stand for it.”

COVID-19 in Minnesota today: 444 new cases, 6 more deaths; keep your guard up over the holiday, Walz, officials urge Minnesotans. The newly reported death count today dipped back in the single digits, with hospitalization and ICU cases both declining. Ahead of this holiday weekend, Minnesota’s top health officials ask people to look for ways to meet outdoors instead of inside and remind anyone feeling ill to opt out of celebrations and get tested.
