Uber and Lyft have announced that their ride-sharing services could be suspended starting Friday in California as the two companies appeal the state's ruling that their drivers must be reclassified from independent contractors to employees by the end of the week. A shutdown in California could result in "more than 100,000 drivers without work," writes Michael Goldstein for Forbes.
