"Being on RealLIST feels better than getting a promotion at work. Seriously."
That's an email I got after Technical.ly published last year's round of
RealLIST Engineers, our lists of influential technologists in each of our markets.
Her comment resonated with me hard: It's been a weird couple of years for local tech communities, so much so that we've often asked in our own reporting if "local" matters much anymore. But tech pros — those who live and work in Baltimore and Technical.ly's other markets — are still making an impact, whether by volunteering, organizing, mentoring or shaping companies' culture and products. It feels good to keep this annual roundup going to give public kudos to the people doing the important building in our cities.
September is also
Software Trends Month at Technical.ly, so while you're wracking your brain for RealLIST noms, tell us, too: What's your favorite tech stack of the moment? Why does your team build with the languages and frameworks it does? How have you seen software trends shift over your career? Reply to this email to share your thoughts or pitch us a specific story.
