Joseph Elison! ð ð ð Three things today: - Multiple Utah universities are presenting their new budget proposals in the Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee this morning at 8:00 a.m. They include the University of Utah, the U of U Healthcare System, Southern Utah University and Utah Tech University.
- Rep. Ray Ward is introducing HB129 in the House Judiciary Committee that begins at 2:00 p.m. The bill would allow an individual who is adopted to access records associated with their adoption when they are 18 years old or older. Currently all adoptions in Utah are sealed.

Rep. Ryan Wilcox, the sponsor of last year's sweeping school safety bill is back for another bite of the apple. HB40 will include changes to how schools vet personnel hired as school security, new building requirements, and broader mental health screenings for school guardians. This bill received unanimous approval in the November interim meeting.
