Unsanctioned use of your Art by AI is an emerging risk.

We know that artists are concerned about AI scrapers, and want to know what measures are possible to prevent their art from being used to train AI models.

At our website hosting company, FASO, we automatically prevent artificial intelligence (AI) bots from scraping your website to use your valuable art images to train their generative image creators (such as DALL-E or Midjourney) or large language models (such as ChatGPT) without your permission.

FASO Uses AI to Block AI

Our tech stack utilizes one of the largest networks on the internet and, through our partnership with them, we use machine learning to identify these AI bot threats and block them from scraping our customer's valuable images even if they do not identify themselves as bots. In other words, we use AI to fight AI.

Unsanctioned use of your images by AI is an emerging risk

By default, all traffic identified by our algorithms as an AI Bot is blocked from accessing artists' websites and their images. This includes both known and, more importantly, unknown, AI scrapers. These blocking measures prevent a huge amount of unwanted traffic, which can sometimes account for up to 70% of the traffic sent to our servers.

With the recent rise of AI models, more companies scrape sites to obtain data for training their models. Since many of these scrapers are unethical and do not identify themselves, we use machine learning to identify and block them. Although no method is foolproof, we are proud to say that our model is quite sophisticated in identifying and blocking these thieves even when they try to appear as legitimate site visitors.

It's an even bigger risk on social media

Unfortunately, you can't rely on social media sites to protect you- they are actively training their own AI models on everything you post to their services! And worse, they plan to displace your images with AI generated images to maximize their ad revenues. And, in general, it's an increasing risk of dealing any of the big, public companies. AI is so lucrative to them, they are willing to take their user's images to train their models for their own purposes.

More than ever, you need a website of your own

That’s why, in this day and age, more than ever, you need your own website.

And you need one run by a company whose interests are aligned with yours.We, at FASO, do not use your images to train AI models and we actively block those who try to. To our knowledge, this is not a service any of our competitors are offering.
