A conversation with author Emily Levine, historian and Associate Professor of Education at Stanford Graduate School of Education. Her book, Allies and Rivals: German-American Exchange and the Rise of the Modern Research University, explores the evolution of higher education in the United States and Germany during the nineteenth century through post-World War II.
Organized by Stanford Digital Education and Trinity College-Hartford and co-sponsored by Duke Learning Innovation.

Pandemic Pedagogy Research Symposium
The 2022 Pandemic Pedagogy Research Symposium
Wednesday, May 11, 10 am - 3 pm
This year’s theme is “From Innovation to Transformation,” and presenters will share their research on promising pandemic-born pedagogical practices. Agenda highlights include:
  • Alternative assessment expert Dr. Sharon Lauricella delivering the keynote address, “Ungrading 101: Five (Feasible) Ways to Buck the Grading Grind.”
  • 11 sessions featuring original research about trending topics in higher education such as lessons learned from pandemic teaching, virtual learning spaces, ed tech, student-centered pedagogies, hybrid environments, equity and inclusion, and more.
  • Four deep dives highlighting work from Duke Learning Innovation, Stanford’s new Digital Education program, the Friday Institute's LASER Institute, and a lightning round of featured initiatives from the symposium’s co-sponsoring universities.
This event is free and open to all!
