| On Tuesday, October 9, Forum on the Road travelled to Santa Rosa's Luther Burbank Center for the Arts for a special live broadcast on the one-year anniversary of the North Bay fires. In the first hour, host Michael Krasny caught up with Santa Rosa mayor Chris Coursey and other officials to discuss the rebuilding efforts and the challenges of developing more affording housing. In the second hour KQED reporter Sukey Lewis, Santa Rosa fire chief Tony Gossner and others explore communications failures that undermined some of the fire rescue efforts and what has been done since to address those in the event of future disasters. Support for Forum on the Road comes from Tipping Point Community, working to break the cycle of poverty by identifying and investing in the most promising interventions in the Bay Area. Visit www.tippingpoint.org to see a short film on their involvement in the North Bay fire recovery effort. | |
