Accessibility Workshop: Sakai, Documents, Slides, PDFs Thursday, Oct. 21, 5 - 6 pm This workshop will focus on how to use headings, tables, accessible link text, color contrast, and font sizes to be accessible to all users, plus how to export documents to alternate formats like PDF if necessary. |

Data Collection Strategies for Research on Teaching and Learning Wednesday, Nov. 3, 12 - 1 pm There are many ways to collect data for research projects related to teaching and learning, from simple surveys to complex experiments and more. This workshop will provide an overview of common data collection strategies including using existing data, pre/post surveys, retrospectives, observations, experiments, and focus groups. Attendees will learn how to pick the right data collection method for their research goals and how to incorporate the key principles of confidentiality, privacy, and informed consent in their data collection efforts. |

Carrying the Innovation Forward to Teach Diverse Learners Thursday, Nov. 4, 12 - 1 pm Join a panel of Carry the Innovation Forward project teams as they share experiences and insights from their ongoing projects (2021 - 2022 academic year). Carry the Innovation Forward is a Learning Innovation program to "sustain and expand the learning innovations that arose at Duke during the COVID-19 pandemic." This panel is perfect for any instructor or teaching assistant wanting to learn how their Duke colleagues approach engaging diverse learners. |
