Kindness in the Face of Uncertainty
Thank you to the many people across our community who are working around the clock on the Institute’s Covid-19 response. In this MIT Weekly you will find updates related to the current situation, which includes a move to online instruction for all classes following spring break. We also look to MindHandHeart, Chalk of the Day artists, and others for reminders that in these challenging times, kindness matters. As President Reif has said, “Please take care of yourselves and of each other, as we strive to take care of you all.”

Can you solve it? Are you a master of reflection? // The Guardian
A coloring puzzle designed by graduate student Alex Berke was featured in The Guardian. Berke’s idea is to “introduce mathematical ideas about symmetry through the process of coloring in. It’s an engaging introduction to the maths of ‘group theory.’”

It also aims to grow bigger, with the pending announcement of regular action admissions decisions today, Pi Day, a cherished Institute observance. With this in mind, a new video from MIT Admissions previews the arrival of online decisions, which will be available this afternoon starting at 1:59 EDT — and the ensuing delivery of silver tubes.
