The Greenville Chamber and Furman University’s Riley Institute honored six Upstate businesses and individuals for their work in promoting diversity and inclusion during the 16th annual Upstate Diversity Leadership Awards held virtually Tuesday.

It’s the end of an era at the Savannah River Site. Fluor-led Savannah River Nuclear Solutions finished the demolition of a building that once contained the control system, manufactured by a well-known auto company, for rods housed in five nuclear reactor vessels during the Cold War.

Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrated with pitch finale

In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Commerce Department and SCRA will host the virtual finale of the first statewide student pitch competition, SC Innovates, today at 5:30 p.m., where five students will vie for a $10,000 cash prize and mentorships with industry professionals and investors.

USC Upstate will also bridge the links between Latin America and the Upstate through a virtual entrepreneurship panel with business leaders from Costa Rica and Spartanburg County.
