TOP OF THE AGENDA | Rubio leads US team in talks with Russia |
| | Both sides sat in silence before the meeting started. Credit: Reuters | US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is meeting his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in talks aimed at ending three years of conflict in Ukraine. The US says the meeting is a first step to see if Russia is "serious" about ending the war that followed Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, while Russia says it hopes to normalise relations with America. But the question of Ukraine's exclusion weighs on the meeting. President Volodymyr Zelensky said his country would not recognise any agreements reached from talks it was not involved in. Correspondent Tom Bateman asked Rubio whether the US was sidelining Ukraine, but received no answer. Ahead of the talks, more Russian strikes were recorded overnight across Ukraine. |

| | | Demand for Indian hair is "skyrocketing", says entrepreneur George Cherion. Credit: George Cherion | Indian hair has always been in demand for wig-making. The nation is the world's biggest exporter of human hair, supplying 85% of global demand. Most of it is exported to China, whose wig-making industry is worth billions of dollars.
