Hi John, The US Justice Department and the Department of Homeland Security has, along with government ministers from the other Five Eyes countries - the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand - published a list of what it calls voluntary principles to curb the scourge of online child sexual abuse.
In Australia, the government is using the increasing incidence of online child sexual exploitation to give the military intelligence agency, the Australian Signals Directorate, a domestic role. It claims this role will be restricted only to cases of child sexual abuse. Vodafone Hutchison Australia chief executive Iñaki Berroeta has welcomed the decision by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission not to appeal against the Federal Court's ruling that the merger with TPG Telecom could go ahead. TPG Telecom has recorded a net profit after tax of $143.6 million for the first half of its current financial year — which ended on 31 January — mostly due to the changes in wholesale pricing of plans by the NBN Co, the company rolling out Australia's broadband network. Debian project leader Sam Hartman has decided not to run for the post again this year, putting his decision down to the fact that the mix of problems facing the community GNU/L:Linux project for the next year don't play to his strengths as much as those of the current year did. However, he did not rule out putting his hand up for the post again sometime in the future. Nokia is collaborating with Intel on technology advancements for its 5G radio portfolio, with the two companies announcing they are working closely on the new Intel Atom P5900 processor that combines compute, connectivity and acceleration technologies.
