USDA Forecasts Farm Exports to Hit New Record

The dire drought situation is one USDA meteorologist Brad Rippey thinks could last through at least the remainder of 2021. Forecasts also point to a drier weather pattern returning for Texas and the Plains.

Propelled by demand for pork and grains, USDA expects exports to hit $164 billion for 2021. That would be up 21% from last year's total and beat the previous record set in 2014.

Frost and freezing conditions left their mark on fields late last week and into the weekend in North Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa.
