His career began more than 50 years ago and included 17 years at the Deseret News as reporter and editor, plus 21 years as a weekly columnist. he was Mike Leavitt's campaign manager and then his policy deputy. This week, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is mailing checks to consumers harmed in the Zurixx, LLC (Zurixx) real estate investment coaching scheme. These payments are the result of the $12 million settlement between the FTC and the Utah Division of Consumer Protection with Zurixx in 2022. (Read More)


Romney, colleagues introduce bill to stop President Biden from cancelling student loan debt

U.S. Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) led Senators Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), Ranking Member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, Tim Scott (R-SC), and Thom Tillis (R-NC) in re-introducing the Student Loan Accountability Actlegislation to prohibit the Biden Administration from cancelling student loan debt at the expense of millions of Americans who chose to not go to college or worked diligently to pay off any student debt. The senators first introduced this legislation in May 2022. (Read More)
