Important Reminder: Form I-9 Federal law requires that every employer who hires an individual for employment in the United States must complete Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. VCSU requires employees to stop by Employee Services to verify their identification documents for their I-9 forms on or prior to their first day of employment or by a notary public in the absence of a university official. This step is mandatory to ensure they are legally eligible to work.
Watterson to talk of Greece at museum Thursday Mike Watterson will speak on “Greece, Athens, Aegean Island Cruise and Western Turkey” at the Barnes County Museum on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. Open to the public free of charge, Watterson’s presentation is part of season 19 of the Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series. A high school science teacher in Valley City prior to his retirement, Watterson and his wife, Randi, are avid travelers. He’ll cover their most recent trip in this lecture.
Wellness Fair to be held in Student Center on March 1 VCSU Health Services, with support from Sanford Health and Essentia Health, will hold its annual Wellness Fair on Wednesday, March 1, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Student Center. More than 20 sponsors and vendors will present information and services. Participants will be able to obtain free samples and literature, register for door prizes, and do fitness testing, blood pressure monitoring and body composition analysis. The event is open to the public free of charge.
Viking sports update Women’s Basketball Friday: VCSU 89, Presentation College 68 Saturday: VCSU 75, No. 11 Jamestown 70 (OT) The Viking women closed the regular season with two victories this weekend, including a 75-70 win over No. 11-ranked University of Jamestown. VCSU is now 22-7 overall and 13-3 in the NSAA. The Vikings are the No. 3 seed for the NSAA Tournament and host Presentation College at 7 p.m. Wednesday. If they win and advance, they will play again on Friday. A second tournament win will put them in the NSAA championship game on Sunday, Feb. 26. Vandal named NSAA Player of the Week VCSU sophomore Alli Vandal was named the NSAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 20 points and 3.5 rebounds in VCSU’s two victories this weekend. Men’s Basketball Friday: VCSU 82, Presentation College 75 Saturday: University of Jamestown 85, VCSU 75 The Viking men closed the regular season with a 1-1 record this past weekend. VCSU ends the regular season at 16-14 overall and 8-8 in conference play. The Vikings are the No. 6 seed for the conference tournament and play at the University on Jamestown at 3 p.m. Thursday. If they win and advance, they will play again on Saturday. A second tournament win will put them in the NSAA championship game on Monday, Feb. 27. Track & Field Seri Geisler (shot put) and Dennis Gonzalez (3,000 meters) both won individual conference championships Saturday during the NSAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
