Fondazione Sozzani hosts MTLSTUDIO, which presents SAGRA DI PAESE.
The spring/summer 2026 collection is an ode to the childhood memories of Matteo Lamandini, the brand's founder and creative director, and transports the essence of life in the Emilia-Romagna countryside to the city. Reinventing the canons of the the traditional village festival with irony and modernity, the presentation celebrates ordinary people starring in scenes from everyday life.

Matteo Lamandini è nato a Modena. Classe 1989, si è formato prima all’Accademia Europea di Bologna e poi all’Istituto Marangoni di Milano. Ha lavorato come assistente menswear designer da MSGM e in seguito da Marni. Ha vinto il concorso “Designer for Tomorrow” nel 2014, finalista di “Who Is On Next” Uomo 2017 e ha realizzato una collezione per la stagione SS16 di Tommy Hilfiger. Il suo brand, MTLstudio nasce da un legame romantico che il designer ha verso il passato, i suoi ricordi, cercando di reinterpretare in chiave ironica e moderna i capi essenziali del guardaroba del nonno. Il piccolo paesino è il rifugio da cui parte la creazione per poi fonderlo con elementi più moderni, cercando di non fare scomparire vecchie usanze di paese e renderle adatte a tutti e al giorno d’oggi. |
Fondazione Sozzani è un’istituzione culturale costituita a Milano da Carla Sozzani nel 2016 per la promozione della fotografia, della cultura, della moda e delle arti. La Fondazione ha assunto il patronato della Galleria Carla Sozzani e prosegue il percorso dell’importante funzione pubblica che la galleria svolge dal 1990. Dal 2021 Sara Sozzani Maino cura e coordina i progetti dedicati all’educazione, responsabilità e ai creativi di nuova generazione. |
Matteo Lamandini was born in Modena, Italy in 1989. He trained first at the European Academy in Bologna and then at Istituto Marangoni in Milan. He worked as an assistant menswear designer at MSGM and later at Marni. He won the “Designer for Tomorrow” competition in 2014, a finalist in “Who Is On Next” Men's 2017 and designed a collection for Tommy Hilfiger's SS16 season. His brand, MTLstudio was born out of a romantic connection the designer has to the past, his memories, trying to reinterpret the essentials of his grandfather's wardrobe in an ironic and modern way. The small village is the refuge from which the creation starts and then merges it with more modern elements, trying not to make old village customs disappear and make them suitable for everyone and today. |
Fondazione Sozzani was established in 2016 by Carla Sozzani and is dedicated to the promotion of culture through photography, fashion, the fine arts, and applied arts. The Foundation has assumed the patronage of Galleria Carla Sozzani and continues all relevant public functions that the Gallery has supported since 1990. Since 2021 Sara Sozzani Maino has curated and coordinated projects dedicated to education, responsibility and the next generation of creatives. |
