| Hello. Syrians and a Bosnian were among the 10 victims of Sweden’s deadliest mass shooting. My colleagues Joel Gunter and Paul Kirby have more. We also hear from the families still trying to find lost children after a deadly 2023 earthquake in Turkey. And finally, a tall tribute to a 40-year-old soccer superstar has appeared in a slightly unusual spot. | |

TOP OF THE AGENDA | Syrians and Bosnian among victims of Swedish gun massacre |
|
| | Candles and flowers have been left outside the Orebro school in tribute to the victims. Credit: Reuters | Syrians and a Bosnian were among the 10 victims of a gunman who carried out the worst shooting in Swedish history, at a school in Orebro. Victims include Salim Iskef, a 29-year-old Orthodox Christian who fled the war in Syria in 2015 and was due to get married this summer. Police say the gunman was found dead after the attack with three firearms by his side, but they have remained tight-lipped about the possible motive behind the shooting. Officers faced an “inferno” when they entered the school, and were confronted by “dead people, screams, and smoke”, the local police chief said. |

| Families search for missing children of Turkey's earthquake | | Emir (R) was making a snowman at home with his older brother Ege the day before the earthquake. | On 6 February 2023, two devastating earthquakes hit southern Turkey, killing more than 53,500 people. Two years on, dozens of families continue to search for their loved ones and at least 30 of the missing are children. Four-year-old Emir was at home with his family when the quakes hit. The bodies of his family were found in the wreckage of their apartment block in Antakya, a city on the Syrian border. But there was no trace of him. |

|
| | Emir's aunt Nursen Kisa arrived at the collapsed building in Antakya an hour after the quake and waited beside the rubble for over two weeks as search and rescue operations went on.
"We thought we could find him, or at least a piece of his clothing, some remains, some sort of a trace. But there were none. Neither in the debris nor among the bodies," she said.
Since then, she has been on a mission to find her missing nephew. "There is nothing yet to prove that my nephew Emir is either dead or alive," said Nursen Kisa. "I am never going to succumb to pressure and report him as deceased. |

And finally... in Times Square | This might not be the first, or only, state honouring soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. But the 12ft (3.6m) bronze monument unveiled at Times Square in New York City on his 40th birthday to celebrate his career and global influence still had his supporters cheer on in excitement. Take a look. | |
