The longstanding rift in the boardroom of number four telco Vocus appears to be over. Vocus chief executive Geoff Horth has left the company "by mutual agreement", according to an announcement made to the ASX on Monday.

Global sales of smartphones to end users fell by 5.6% in the final quarter of 2017 compared to the corresponding quarter in the previous calendar year, the technology research firm Gartner says.
