 | Volunteer at a red kettle, make a difference |
When most people think of The Salvation Army, they think of our stores, or red kettles at Christmastime. But did you know that those stores and red kettles actually raise the funds that help us serve more than 350,000 people in the Twin Cities, Greater Minnesota, and North Dakota each year? The red kettles are on the streets raising those essential funds right now, and we need people just like you to volunteer to ring a bell at a kettle in your neighborhood. Volunteers are the difference between an empty kettle and one that raises about $30 per hour – enough to provide a family with two bags of groceries, or shelter an individual for a night. It only takes a single shift to make a difference. Whether you are looking for a new family tradition, or just want to give back with the gift of your time, bell ringing is one of the simplest ways to help others this Christmas. |
