| John, We’re celebrating 35 years of bringing you the news on 88.5 FM. Just like we did in 1987, KQED relies on support from generous KQED members to bring you the shows you love. Today is the final day of our March radio drive. With just hours left to go, will you make a donation to help us reach our goal? I wasn’t at KQED back when we made the switch to an all-news format, but Jo Anne Wallace was our General Manager shortly after the switch. She recalls:
“We had a very small staff producing Forum, newscasts and the occasional feature story. Thanks to the hard work of many people, and the support of listeners, KQED has become a powerhouse of radio news.” – Jo Anne Wallace, former General Manager of KQED |
As the current President and CEO, I’m grateful for the past leadership of Jo Anne and many others — and I’m grateful for the support of our members. Northern California’s commitment to public media is the reason we’re still growing 35 years later! Together, we can ensure everyone in our region has access to independent, local news for the next 35 years and beyond. Right now, if you commit to a monthly gift of $35 or more you can enjoy a gift bundle of a KQED hoodie, three pairs of KQED socks and a mystery KQED logo item! The deadline for our March radio fundraising drive is 7:00 pm tonight. I hope to hear from you soon.
| Sincerely, | | Michael J. Isip President & CEO |
