Jackson County ballots were mailed Friday, October 18th. You should receive yours this week. If you have any concerns, please contact:

If you return your ballot by mail...

The Jackson County Clerk, Chris Walker, has confirmed that ballots sent through the U.S. Postal Service in Jackson County will be sent to Portland for a postmark. This could add two or more days to your ballot being postmarked. Chris Walker urges you to allow a minimum of seven days if you mail in your ballot. This means don’t mail in your ballot after Tuesday, Oct. 29. Use the dropbox instead! Mailed-in ballots must be postmarked by November 5th and received by the elections office within one week of election day.

*If you’re using a drop box, be sure your ballot is in the drop box before 8:00 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5th!

Track the status of your ballot

You can tell whether your ballot has been received by going online to the Oregon Secretary of State. You can find them by searching for My Vote Oregon in your browser.

What if I receive a ballot for someone who’s not in my home?

Do not try to forward the ballot. The postal service does not forward ballots. If the ballot is for your child who is attending college, but is registered to vote here at their permanent address, let your child know their ballot is here and ask them to come home to VOTE! Or, you can mail them their ballot in a separate envelope or better yet in a package with cookies! Once they vote, they can return their ballot by mail (at least a week before election day) or drop their ballot off at any official drop box in Oregon. By the way, nagging your adult children to vote is good parenting!

Your Local Votes Matters! Vote BLUE all the way down the ballot!

We’re all excited to vote in this historic presidential election and we all know how crucial it is to elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz . . . but the down ballot races are also critically important this year. Please help us spread the word that electing Democrats all the way down the ballot is how we save and protect democracy at every level of government.

Right here in Jackson County, we have a chance to elect the first Democrat to the Jackson County Board of Commissioners in over a decade, Denise Krause. We can re-elect Pam Marsh (District 5) to the Oregon House of Representatives and send Lilia Caballero (District 6), Richard Chasm (District 4), and Isabella Lee Tibbetts (Write in Candidate, District 56) to represent us in Salem. We can elect Tracy Thompson and Dylan Gutridge to the Oregon State Senate. We can help flip the US House to a Democratic majority by voting for Dan Ruby for Congress.

And, at the state wide level, we can protect our elections by choosing Tobias Read for Secretary of State. We can make sure Oregon continues to be a state where we follow the law and our civil rights and constitution are upheld by electing Dan Rayfield for Attorney General. We can make sure our finances are in good hands and well managed by electing Elizabeth Steiner for State Treasurer.

*Share this newsletter with your family and friends. Talk to your family and friends about the importance of voting all the way up and down the ballot this year.

*Visit our website and print out slate cards to share with family and friends. jcdemocrats.org/candidatesandissues

*Stop by our campaign office to pick up yard signs for local candidates and information. The office is located at 1361 Center Drive, in a strip mall across from the South Medford Walmart (next to Las Margarita’s restaurant). The office is open Monday - Friday 11:00 - 5:30 or so, and on Saturday mornings 9:00 - 12:00 noon.
