Michael Oliver and Patrick Highsmith of Timberline Resources return as guests this week. This week’s episode title was taken from a recent short article written by Jesse Felder who writes “The Felder Report, Taking the Financial Road Less Traveled.” Almost five years ago, he wrote a blog post titled, “BANG: Why the Gold Miners Could Soon Make FANG Look Tame.” Upon request from a reader, Jesse updated that article with several charts that make the point that the FANG stocks (Meta, Amazon, Netflix and Google) are extremely overvalued while the BANG stocks (Barrick Gold, Agnico Eagle and Newmont) are undervalued. However, that is changing.
Clearly, there has been some back and forth between these two with the BANG stocks taking the lead and holding it over the past year or so. But the relatively better performance of these senior gold stocks has been a stealth move. I have seldom seen so little interest in gold shares, especially those small cap companies that are making gigantic gold and silver discoveries.
Michael commented on his views on the BANG and FANG stocks and Patrick updates us on one of those small cap exploration companies that appears to be on the verge of significant gold and silver discoveries in Nevada. |
