THIS WEEK'S QUESTION:
Massachusetts voters said yes to legalizing marijuana on Nov. 8, but questions remain as to whether or not legal sales will happen by this coming October, as the law prescribes. Gov. Charlie Baker said he wants a timely implementation, however, the town of Ashland has already voted to delay sales until 2018 and other municipalities may follow suit.
Should sales of marijuana be delayed by communities?
Yes. Towns and cities need to make sure these retailers are handled appropriately.
Yes. The ballot initiative was a farce and the federal government will soon crack down on legal marijuana.
No. The people have spoken.
No. Delays will deny communities a potentially lucrative source of revenue and taxes.
