| | | Engaging, Educating, and Entertaining Future Scientists. A Call to Action. | | The Board of Directors and staff of Kentucky Science Center join you in the desire to keep our communities healthy and safe. We listened to the scientists, followed the direction of our government leaders, and halted all in-person programming to help protect your families and ours. Kentucky Science Center relies on general admissions, field trips, and other educational services for 76% of our operational revenue. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and halt of day-to-day business operations, these revenue sources have been suspended until further notice. It's in these moments that our ingenuity, creativity and unity help us endure and survive. In keeping with our mission of encouraging people - of all ages - to Do Science in ways that are Engaging, Educational, and Entertaining to inspire a lifetime of learning, we are excited to launch Do Science at Home - a series of science experiments, classroom demonstrations like dissections and engineering basics, and at home MakerPlace activities available online on our Facebook and YouTube pages. This virtual education series will have new content every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to help support and promote science education and literacy for every age. Each lesson is provided by a team of dedicated scientists and educators who quite frankly are unsure of what the future may hold, but are motivated by the opportunity to still engage and educate. | | | | | We need your support. Please consider making a gift to Kentucky Science Center's Annual Fund for Science. All contributions received at this time will be designated to maintaining our staff to the best of our ability so that we can continue developing curriculum for school systems, libraries, other nonprofit organizations, and our members not just during this difficult time, but throughout the year. We need to be ready to provide quality, hands-on science education for every age the moment public restrictions are lifted. | | | | The following are additional ways you can support KSC every day: Make a purchase from our Amazon Wish List.
