View this email online. | 100 Years of Organised Aboriginal Activism | Celebrate International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples on ABC listen by meeting some of the amazing activists who began Australia’s first Aboriginal political organisation. Founded in 1924, the Australian Aboriginal Progressive Association (AAPA) campaigned right across the country. Led by Fred Maynard, AAPA advocated for Indigenous rights, land ownership, self-determination and the protection of cultural identity. A century later, Fred Maynard’s grandson shares his story.
