Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir announced their retirement after 5 Olympic medals and 22 years of skating together. Virtue & Moir have become the most decorated Canadian ice dance team and the most decorated Olympic figure skaters of all time, winning 3 gold medals and 2 silver medals. Most importantly though, they have captured the hearts of an entire nation. TD Place is honoured to play host to one of Tessa & Scott's final skates together, when Rock The Rink makes its tour stop in Ottawa on Thursday, November 7th. The Canadian skaters announced their retirement in a video message on social media, thanking fans for their support in an emotional post. "After 22 years, it feels like the right time to step away from the sport," Virtue said. "This is so personal and emotional for both of us. Weâre just so grateful. How lucky are we really that we got to share all of this together and with all of you?" Thank you for everything, Tessa & Scott! â¤ï¸ We can't wait to watch you, and the incredible Rock The Rink cast, take to the ice here in November. |
