Meet our co-locator: The Ottawa Outdoor Gear Library
The Ottawa Outdoor Gear Library is a new volunteer-driven, non-profit library that has set up shop inside the OTL! They will be a loaning library for outdoor gear of all kinds - bikes, tents, skates, and more! They are holding their first “Gear Drive” on Saturday May 15 and Sunday May 16 from 10am – 3pm outside the building at 877A Boyd Avenue.
The Ottawa Outdoor Gear Library is interested in any equipment that supports residents to be able to enjoy the outdoors – from field guides, hiking boots, binoculars, bicycles, camping gear, sports game equipment, fishing rods, hula hoops, rain gear, skates, snowshoes, etc.
If you want a meaningful job, have experience developing marketing campaigns, and want to work with some rad folds, look no further. We’re hiring a Membership and Outreach Coordinator who will be responsible for developing a membership drive and volunteer recruitment strategy. You will develop and compile promotional materials highlighting the numerous benefits of OTL membership and identify and attend community events and groups to connect with new prospective members and volunteers. Our tool library has a bicycle trailer and it is anticipated that the Membership and Outreach Coordinator will use this as a mobile information booth to raise awareness about the OTL. Deadline to apply is May 16th. Please spread the word!
Join us for a virtual workshop presented by EnviroCentre’s Let’s Bike Program!
Discover some of the interesting destinations in Ottawa that are easily accessible by bicycle! Heritage sites, nature areas and public art are a few of the destinations that will be covered. Route planning resources will also be highlighted to help you plan your own adventure!
This workshop is intended for people of all ages and cycling abilities. Tickets are FREE.
Our Webstore will reopen soon as well. We've unpacked all the boxes, sorted and updated our webstore inventory, with more being added as you read this, so we can help keep tools in circulation rather than the landfill. For great deals on used tools, stay tuned to our social media channels to get first dibs on the new inventory.
