Spartanburg-based Mobile Communications America Inc. has expanded its services following a recent acquisition of CodeLynx, Inc., a security systems and custom software engineering solutions firm from North Charleston.

Laurel Island project puts focus on affordable housing in perpetuity

Upon completion of the Laurel Island development, 10% of the overall 4,260 rentable residential units will be affordable housing for Charleston’s working class. Developer Robert Clement said the project's focus on affordable housing has gotten overshadowed in the approval process.

Private career college changes name

Southeastern Institute, a private network of career colleges with a campus in Columbia and North Charleston, has changed its name to Southeastern College.

The Charleston Symphony is partnering with Charleston County Parks to offer a free pass to the Holiday Festival of Lights with a purchase of two full-price tickets to the Holiday Pops concert. The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18 and at noon and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Gaillard Center.
