Lightning Tie Florida League Record for Consecutive Wins

It has been more than three weeks since the Leesburg Lightning last tasted the bitterness of defeat. They have won 13 games in a row, tying the Florida League record set by Davey Johnson's 2009 DeLand Suns. Randy Harvey Night in Sanford
Dozens of former umpires, and hundreds of fans on hand joined together to honor 30+ year umpire Randy Harvey in Sanford on Saturday night.
We raised more than $2,500 for Randy, and Florida League founder Sara Whiting presented randy with the inaugural Florida League Umpire of the Year award.

Player of the Week
Cande was a force at the plate this week, generating eight runs (four scored, four driven in) in eight at-bats. He also recorded five strikeouts in 2.1 innings on the mound.

Pitcher of the Week
R yan Welsh was masterful in his two appearances this week, allowing only one base runner while striking out five over three innings of work.
