14 July 2022 Your key COVID-19 report COVID-19 Reports UpdateAccess all reportsWeekly Epidemiological Update13 JulyGlobally, the number of new weekly cases increased for the fifth consecutive week after a declining trend since the last peak in March 2022. During the week of 4 to 10 July 2022, over 5.7 million new cases were reported, a 6% increase compared to the previous week. The number of new weekly deaths was similar to that of the previous week, with over 9800 fatalities reported. As of 10 July 2022, just under 553 million confirmed cases and over 6.3 million deaths have been reported globally. In this edition we also include: an update on the circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOCs), including their geographic spread and prevalence.a special focus on the WHO global situational alert system.
