Meet Karlo Young
Karlo Young, a native of East Baltimore and the new president of Concentric Educational Solutions, is determined to inspire the city's next generation of leaders. Believing in the potential of ideas from all levels of the company, he is focused on fostering a supportive environment within the organization. With deep roots in East Baltimore, Young carries his heritage proudly and aims to make a positive impact in his new role.
The Agora Initiative, led by Amelia DeSorrento, just launched a venture competition aimed at supporting women founders in the DMV. Addressing the significant funding gap for women, the initiative aims to provide resources and opportunities to these underresourced entrepreneurs. According to DeSorrento, despite only a small fraction of venture capital currently going to female founders, studies show that investing in women can yield higher returns. Projects like The Agora Initiative therefore have the chance at transforming gender inclusion and fostering innovation.
