Good morning! In 2025, the only selfies I’m taking are earnest photos for my mother to post on Facebook (love you, Mom) or .5-lens selfies for posterity. But a decade ago, they were all the rage. Culture writer Alicia Eler should know — she wrote a whole book about it. She reflects below on the state of the selfie since its rise in popularity, and how it’s evolved into the tool it is today.
