If you've been on social media this morning you have seen friends in the east of Scotland complaining about an 'explosion' last night. A rare combination of wintry conditions caused 'thundersnow' to crash above the heads of Scots in the wee hours of this morning. Police Scotland Control Rooms tweeted at around 5am on Friday: “We have received a number of calls regarding people concerned about explosions heard."
