"What is important is not to follow anybody but to understand oneself. If you go into yourself without effort, fear, without any sense of restraint, and really delve deeply, you will find extraordinary things.

In oneself lies the whole world and if you know how to look and learn, the door is there, and the key is in your hand."

J. Krishnamurti
From You Are the World

Dear Friends,

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors whose unwavering support has enabled us to expand the accessibility of Krishnamurti's work. Through diverse channels such as our online platforms, outreach initiatives, publications, events, and educational programs, we continue to share Krishnamurti's transformative message with individuals from all walks of life.

We reach out to you biannually to request your financial assistance in our ongoing mission to preserve and disseminate Krishnamurti's legacy. The Gathering will also be accessible via live streaming. Join us for dialogues, workshops, and the serene ambiance of the campus.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with educators from our schools and scholars well-versed in Krishnamurti's teachings. Admission to this event is complimentary, with optional lunch available for purchase. Lunch will be available for purchase on campus for $20 or prepaid online for $15. For those who would like to watch the livestream, please register to get the live link when the Gathering begins. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our upcoming online program meets from March 18-22 from 10:00 am to 12:15 pm PDT. During the Action Not of Our Own program, attendees will explore various themes related to action and conflict. Krishnamurti spoke of direct or complete contact, in which lies the possibility of real action or change. Might this point to the immediacy of what is happening in us in this moment; in which there is just our inner conflict moving, the wordless fact of it, without a demand to do something about it? An intimacy with what is happening in us, in which we are not separate from it. Perhaps this immediacy is its own action unasked for, in which inward conflict/resisting reveals its true nature. Is this revealing the real source of understanding?

The week after that Is Control An Illusion? meets from March 25-29 at the Krishnamurti Center. This online program will give participants the opportunity to explore control in their lives and the world around them. “Can freedom come from control? The very nature of bondage is control, and yet most of us seek freedom through greater and greater control in our lives. Is there a link between psychological suffering and the pervasive need to feel that we are in control?” –  Krishnamurti

We offer another yoga + inquiry program next month, meeting from April 5-7. YOGA + INQUIRY: On Self-Knowing occurs at the Krishnamurti Center for a weekend dedicated to looking into the concept of self-knowledge. Krishnamurti often spoke about self-knowledge or self-knowing; it’s a theme he came back to often. Sometimes he would say the same thing in a new way or sometimes say something completely new and the listener would miss it if they were not fully listening. During this dialogue weekend, participants will examine what we understand to be listening and self-knowing alongside the practice of Yoga.

Sincerely,

Jaap Sluijter
Executive Director

Middle School Environmental Studies

At Oak Grove School the Arts of Living and Learning are ingrained in our culture, curriculum, classroom practice, and expectations of student learning. And one of the key elements of the Arts of Living and Learning is our relationship to the environment.

We understand that if we empower our students to develop a strong relationship with nature, they will come to understand their responsibility to the environment. They will learn to love nature and intrinsically want to protect our planet through active stewardship and responsibility for the environment.

The Urgency of Change
In-person Program
April 12-14

If you ever question life, you might realize that most questions spur from a sense of deep disturbance about what is happening with you and the rest of the world. So a delicate, sensitive, and earnest person would ask the inevitable, "How is one to live in this world?"

Perhaps, there is no formula to follow, but definitely, there is a living that is right and harmonious. What is that living? Is it practical and not ensconced in some fairy tales? Based on the teachings of J. Krishnamurti, let’s consider it and explore. The exploration will include K videos, dialogues, and some other self-discovery activities.

Can we find out for ourselves firsthand what all this refers to, experiment with it? Maybe it doesn’t involve any time at all.
