Credit: Getty | France's Prime Minister Barnier tendered his resignation today, after being ousted by MPs in a no-confidence vote. But, as our Paris correspondent Hugh Schofield reports from the French capital, this is far worse than a normal political crisis. The National Assembly remains divided into three blocs, none of which is prepared to deal with the others. For many, the very future of the Fifth Republic institutions are in jeopardy. Hugh writes: "If Barnier – a moderate of the centre-right with a reputation for courtesy and compromise – was unable to pass a budget, then who else can?" |

The officer, in the city of Lone Tree, grabbed a child's bike to give chase after the man - wanted for felony theft - sped away on an electric scooter. He was later apprehended and charged, and the whole thing was caught on video. | |
