Sticking to the New Year Resolutions?
Planning to run a marathon? Learn french? Loose a few pounds?
With the first month of 2019 done and dusted, we did a quick whip around the SitePoint office to see how everyone was going with their new year resolutions. The general consensus seems to be “… umm… yeah we got a bit busy…”
So, what HAVE we been busy with in January at the SitePoint office? Here are some of the things we’ve been working on:
15 New Mini-Books Released!
Our New UX Collection which makes UX accessible for non UX professionals. Including excellent case studies from UX wizards like Jodie Moule, who shows you how she used human-centered design to turn her app Cook from a good app to a great one with 1.5 million downloads.
A New Members Dashboard!
You might have noticed the quiet launch our new Members Dashboard – think of it as a control panel for your reading and learning.
Version 1 lets you collect and save all of your bookmarks, code samples, images and diagrams – across the SitePoint Library. Version 2 (and some really cool features) is not far away either.
New Blog Posts!
Patrick Catanzariti has been providing his hot tips on where and how to get started with learning about emerging tech in 2019.
We show you how to find a dev mentor, because we all need someone to learn from.
We also show you in this tutorial how to migrate to Gulp.js 4.0. Because despite heavy competition from webpack and Parcel, Gulp.js is still a very popular JavaScript task runner.
And Finally, we worked with our friends at Okta to bring you this guide on developing an Android app with React Native and publishing it on Google Play.
Oh, and just in case you were wondering, we have actually managed to stick to our lunchtime runs. We’ve got a target of a 1000kms each for the year.
