Connecting people to objects and art... |
It is so wonderful being in an industry that connects people to things they love and seeing the positive impact these things can have on their lives. It was lovely to meet the new owner of Lot 6 from our Modern and Contemporary Art Auction when they came to collect - John Bratby (1928-1992) Sunflowers, garden scene with sunflowers and a perched owl, signed upper left, oil on canvas, measurements 122 x 91 cm Sold for £10,540 (inc fees) The buyer first saw one of Bratby’s paintings in a restaurant in Greenwich over 15 years ago and has been hoping to buy one ever since. They are delighted with it and we are so happy to be part of this story. Here is this gorgeous painting in its new home! It looks fantastic and really compliments the other accent colours in the room. I wonder what objects we’ll be connecting to people next? |

MAY ANTIQUES & INTERIORS Auction Results |
The May Antiques and Interiors Auction brought with it some surprising and not so surprising results which included a near life size 19th century carved stone term, in the form of a satyr issuing from a tapering column. A bidding battle between three online bidders led to a sold price of £4,800. Elsewhere in the sale the stamps department sold The Atkins/Fisher collection of penny blacks in plated order 1-9, to a private collector for sold for £1,250.
