Fortified roofs: Louisiana homeowners have begun installing fortified roofs in hopes of reducing their premiums, and policymakers have hailed a grant-funded program as a crucial means of solving the state's insurance woes. But an analysis of the benefits of those who've taken the step suggests the results can vary widely. And some consumer advocates are wondering whether the state is doing enough to get a sufficient return on their investment. Sam Karlin and Sophie Kasakove have the story. EPA rule: Earlier this month, the EPA announced a new rule that will reduce the amount of a half a dozen likely cancer-causing air pollutants being released by 51 plants and refineries in Louisiana. Mike Smith traveled to the Mississippi River communities who will benefit from the decision, which has been criticized by industry as misguided. Gleason's art: Art lovers gathered last week to view recent works by one of New Orleans' most recognizable residents, though not one who has made his name through painting or sculpture.
