| Dear Reader, I just got off a call with Liberal Senator Alex Antic. And he confirmed to me what he’s been seeing and hearing on the streets of Adelaide. It’s exactly what I’m seeing in my community in Wollongong. And, I expect, what you’re seeing where you live (unless you happen to live in Canberra). Regular, everyday Australians have serious concerns about net zero. Not climate change — that’s a separate issue. I’m talking about the policy our government has signed us up to that will take extreme measures to cut the country’s CO2 emissions by 2050. People are starting to figure out exactly what it’s going to mean for them. What it’s going to cost them. And they want to put the brakes on. I’ve looked at the numbers from every conceivable angle...and I simply can’t see net zero working without causing a world of pain to Australian families and businesses. Because the only way for Australia to reduce its carbon emissions is for you and me to literally stop doing things. Driving our cars and Utes, eating meat, consuming, travelling, going on holiday...and more besides. How long will people put up with that kind of life? The backlash has already started in other parts of the world. Major U-turns have happened in Sweden...Germany...France…and the UK. Net zero didn’t even survive one European winter without these countries scurrying back to coal or nuclear power.
