TODAY'S TOP STORY What to watch in April Donβt want to waste precious time looking for something to watch? Let me point you straight to the good stuff! Hereβs everything new this month thatβs worth a stream. Netflix Hello, black leather, bullets and Keanu: All three βMatrixβ movies are on Netflix this month. If that's not your bag, βHappy Gilmoreβ with Adam Sandler is always a hole-in-one. Or treat the kids to βHotel Transylvaniaβ (and then βHotel Transylvania 2β). Watch for new seasons of βThe Circle,β βHeartbreak High,β βSpirit Rangersβ and βAs the Crow Flies.β Oh, and donβt forget all four seasons of the adventure series βBlack Sails.β No need to pirate it! Hulu Lots of cool movies hitting Hulu this month, including the star-packed thriller βDon't Worry Darling,β the Coen brothersβ classic βThe Big Lebowskiβ and DC Comics blockbuster βWonder Woman.β As for series, check out new seasons of βWe're Hereβ and βUgliest House in Americaβ β you know, for when you wanna feel better about your fixerβupper. Amazon Prime Video Youβve got the β80s classic βTop Gun,β the β90s hit βTitanicβ and the 2015 Bond flick βSpectre.β Or pay homage to the β70s with the latest movie in the βExorcistβ franchise, βThe Exorcist: Believer.β Thanks, Iβll pass. As far as shows go, your best bets are all seasons of βHouseβ and the latest video-game-to-TV adaptation, βFallout.β I swear thereβs a new adaptation of something every day. Max If you have an extra 20 hours on your hands, binge all eight βHarry Potterβ movies on Max this month. There's a ton of other great stuff, like this yearβs Oscar-winning βThe Zone of Interestβ and 2003 classic βLost in Translation.β Ooh, maybe Iβll watch that when Iβm missing Japan. New show βThe Sympathizer,β which is about a spy in the Vietnam War, is an early winner, plus catch all-new seasons of βMoonshinersβ and βThe Jinx.β Disney+ The movie highlight on Disney+ this month is βWish,β the latest animated flick sprinkled with Disney's magic. Fantasy adventure series βRenegade Nellβ is another fun one for the family. It's from the mastermind behind the hit Brit TV crime show βHappy Valley.β Or catch the brand-new animated throwback, βXβMen '97.β Apple TV+ I loved βMasters of the Airβ and βThe New Look.β I didnβt really get into βManhunt,β which was about Abraham Lincolnβs assassination, but Barry did. The first season of βThe Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levyβ was fantastic and funny, but this new season is horrible and boring. π
Whatβs the difference between Wolverine and Paul Bunyan? Oneβs a Hugh Jackman, and the otherβs a huge ax man. (I know you laughed.) |

WEB WATERCOOLER AI election interference: Microsoft confirmed what we all knew: China and North Korea are using bogus content on social media to influence your vote. They targeted Taiwan's elections as a "test run," using AI audio and memes to sway votes. This stuff works, folks. Donβt trust anything you see on social. Sounds about right: Amazon's "Just Walk Out" tech promised we could skip the checkout line using AI. Turns out, about 1,000 workers in India were watching live footage since the AI wasnβt up to snuff β 700 out of every 1,000 transactions needed a human check. No surprise, they canned the whole project. π Android upgrade: Google's βFind My Deviceβ network is finally working for some folks. Itβs Androidβs version of Apple Find My. Hooray β you can now track lost items with special Bluetooth trackers if you have access. Itβs a gradual rollout, though, so check your Settings app to see if itβs available for you yet. π± iOS 18 exclusivity: Apple's βbiggest update yetβ comes out in June, but if you're rocking an iPhone 8 Plus or older, you're out of luck. Eligible models? The XR, XS, iPhones 11 to 15, plus the second- and third-gen SEs. If you want those new AI features, itβs time to upgrade. Hit those links to check out a new phone. π Help NASA: Tomorrowβs total solar eclipse is gracing North America, and NASA's calling for backup. Your smartphone will do just fine. Snap the eclipse using SunSketcher (iOS and Android), or keep tabs on the climate with Globe Observer (iOS and Android). If you still need glasses, some libraries are handing them out for free. |

They now handle photos a lot better, and itβs easier to make your presentations look exactly how you want. Open the Apple App Store on your device of choice to update. It's on the tip of my tongue: AI bots can help you find a word that's on the tip of your tongue but you can't quite remember. Just prompt ChatGPT, Gemini or your fave with βHelp me with a word I canβt think of.β Document cleanup: Want your text to drop down to a new page in Microsoft Word or Google Docs without hitting the βEnterβ key a million times? Hit Ctrl + Enter on Windows or Cmd + Enter on a Mac. Nice! Saved you a swipe: On most Android phones, swipe down from the top of the screen once to see key shortcuts and settings, then swipe again to see the full selection. It's called the βQuick Settingsβ screen. A faster way to get there: Swipe down once with two fingers. Pic-me-up: Open your phoneβs (or tabletβs) Photos app and search for terms like βselfies,β βdogsβ or βsunsetsβ or even emotions like βhappinessβ to find photos in your camera roll fitting those descriptions. Iβm smiling already. |
MY TRUSTED ADVICE ποΈ Every week on my national radio show heard on over 420 stations, I talk with interesting folks and those who could use a little help with something digital. Catch these convos this weekend on a station near you or as a podcast on Apple or Spotify. Guy Kawasaki hosts the "Remarkable People" podcast (yep, I was on it) and was one of the original marketers behind the Apple Macintosh. He has a new book called βThink Remarkable,β and I gave my son, Ian, a copy β he loved it. Elaine in Corpus Christi, Texas, fell prey to a slick scam via a sketchy pop-up, losing $20,000. Now she's wondering if those companies that promise to get her money back are for real. Tamara in Brookings, Oregon, is an illustrator and small-biz owner whoβs in a tight spot after hackers copied and cloned her entire website. Plus, Jillian gets biz help on Instagram, Anthony wants an AirTag finder, Danβs looking for PC automation apps, Thom needs tools to manage video rights and many more great callers, just like you! π Make an appointment to speak with me right here. |
