Good morning and thanks for joining us. Here are some of today's top headlines. Canal rescue: As you've undoubtedly noticed, Canal Street is on the ropes these days. Many of its storied department stores are gone, and the floors above them are often empty as the buildings fall into disrepair. The City Council wants a plan to restore one of New Orleans' most important corridors. Stephanie Riegel and James Finn have the details. The cost of ending homelessness: New Orleans launched its bid to end street homelessness in the city a year ago. Now it says that although progress is being made, more funds are necessary to achieve that goal. Sophie Kasakove has the story. Police chase: State Police troopers Thursday evening chased a stolen vehicle that ultimately ran a stop sign, struck a car and crashed into a house.
