A major snow storm blew through Colorado on Tuesday night, and that caused some shipping issues. We were able to get all customer orders packaged, but the delivery company trucks weren't moving. So a lot of packages were stuck. We're happy to report that the sun came out on Thursday, and melted off the snow from the roads and traffic is moving again. It is beautiful here when we have fresh snow and sunny skies. I wish you could see it! Earlier this week, we sent out Peak-of-Flight Newsletter #593. The issue featured my report from the Manufacturers' forum at NARCON. Did you discover anything new that piqued your interest? I also wrote a blog this week titled: "Tim's Messy Desk." I'm trying to make these a little more personal, because lot of people want to know more about me, like I'm some sort of celebrity. I will continue to write them, if you're interested in knowing what's going on in my corner of the world. What do you think? New Rocket Kit Released - Antares Explorer As promised, on Tuesday we released the new kit called the Antares Explorer. There was a lot of last-second scrambling to get it out, and if the snow storm had been early, we probably wouldn't have made it. But we did! This is sci-fi rocket based around a BT-55 tube. What makes it special though, is that it has a 24mm diameter motor mount versus the 18mm diameter tube in our other kits that are a similar size. This means it can be flown on a wider variety of rocket motors. And yes, you can fly it on bigger motors, like an F-size. It is going to scream on something like that, and I hope you have good eyesight to track it. Given its innovative appearance, it's not too unexpected that the product is already experiencing strong sales. To ensure that you get one from the initial production batch, we advise ordering one soon. The final installment in the assembly sequence on the Experimental Gliding Parachute System will be the subject of our next Advanced Construction Video. This specific video shows how to fold the parachute and get everything ready for launch. Folding the parachute is one of the most critical steps in the success of the system, so we want to be sure we get it right. I'll see you in your email in-box next Tuesday. |
