No, Simon Cowell did not have an e-bike accident. He was riding the world's fastest electric motorcycle, with 20 times the power allowed on e-bikes in North America and four times the top speed. It has as much in common with an e-bike as Marlon Brando's motorcycle does with Humphrey Bogart's bicycle.

But all the media are talking about how his "accident renews e-bike safety concerns." I understand that e-bikes are new in North America but really, grandmothers in Utrecht ride them and don't do wheelies or break their backs. Yet 10 years from now we will still be hearing that "e-bikes are dangerous, look what happened to Simon Cowell."
