| Ever Been Asked to Find 'The Next Shit'? This Ad Will Speak to Your Soul | |
| | Do you ever watch an ad and think, "This feels like an ad about working in advertising?" Well this one absolutely is. And it's maybe too dead-on. To help a Swedish retailer rebrand as Marqet, agency Happy F&B created a spot about a team being tasked with finding and launching "The Next Shit." Taking it very literally, they go deep in scat to prototype, ship and advertise the ultimate new turd. And then, before the launch party hangover is even gone, the cycle starts all over again. It's a hamster wheel any agency strategist or creative will recognize, and while the ad doesn't necessarily hammer that it's a soul-crushing and endless Groundhog Day of trendspotting, it still conveys a mild sense of pointlessness. Which, ironically, is totally the point. I want to hear your "go find us the next cool thing" story about a client or agency boss. Drop me a line at the email below, hit me on Twitter or come stalk me amid my dog photos on Instagram at @DavidGriner.
