| Celebrities Ascend 'Paramount Mountain' in Paramount+ Super Bowl Ad | | | | Hello! Before we get into the headlined story above, there's an elephant in the room to discuss: Where are all the ads? We're so accustomed to seeing nearly every ad before the Super Bowl, but with 72 hours to go, we're waiting on some 20+ ads and possibly a few surprise advertisers. Brands have revealed 33 ads, and we know of just over 50. We've also accounted for about 68.5 ad slots in the game, with a handful more likely available (every 30 seconds is a slot, meaning a 90-second buy is three ad slots). Unless ads roll out tomorrow or Saturday, which based on recent years isn't likely, we could be looking at a Super Bowl filled with big reveals. So if you hate the fact that brands release their ads early, this year's game might be a throwback to much simpler times. If you do like watching the ads, check out our video gallery. OK, since so few ads were released today, I want to highlight a Paramount+ promo, which doesn't count against ViacomCBS' ad slots for the game. It's 90 seconds of Patrick Stewart and a whole cast of ViacomCBS stars. Most importantly Patrick Stewart dances a bit. It's an important campaign for ViacomCBS, which is rebranding CBS All Access to Paramount+ to compete in the escalating streaming wars. We have two stories on the topic: One for those of you in the TV biz and need to understand CBS' game plan with Paramount+.The other looks at the creation of the promo, which you can watch in the story.Big Game Summit From our event today, we have two stories: Two-time Super Bowl champion Torrey Smith explains why he works with purpose-driven brands.First-time advertisers are fueling ViacomCBS' ad sales successes, according to ad sales chief Jo Ann Ross. | | | |
