It's my favorite time of year ...
Hey hey, Baltimore. This message shares a title with my favorite holiday song, by none other than the Baltimore-bred R&B heroes in Dru Hill. You'll see it listed in a story below, alongside some other Technical.ly colleagues' beloved holiday tracks, that announces that we're going on break soon.
Yes, dear readers and fellow Baltimore denizens, we at Technical.ly are going on holiday. While we will likely publish some more stories tomorrow (anticipate at least one related to Baltimore or Maryland), this newsletter will be our last of 2022.
In the spirit of looking back and forward at year's end, I want to thank those of you that offered us great tips and pitches, voted in our 2022 Technical.ly Awards, recommended people and companies for our RealLIST installments and overall helped me understand this city's tech scene better than I did. Starting this job in February meant filling the outsized boots of Stephen Babcock, which was daunting enough without inheriting his workload. But so many of you welcomed me with metaphorically open arms, supported and uplifted our Baltimore-focused reporting in ways I couldn't have imagined and done so in the shared desire to make Baltimore the best place it can be.
So, I wish all of you a wonderful remainder of 2022, and encourage you to not work too hard — or, ideally, at all. We'll be back on Jan. 3.
