"We cannot possibly survive if we are concerned only with our own survival. All human beings the world over are interrelated today. What happens in one country affects the others. Humans have considered themselves individuals separate from each other, but psychologically a human being is inseparable from the whole of humankind.

There is no such thing as psychological survival. When there is the desire to survive or to fulfill, you are creating a situation which is totally unreal. Psychologically, you cannot be separate from another.
The desire to be separate is the very source of danger and destruction. Each person by asserting oneself threatens one’s own existence.

When the truth of this is seen and understood, one’s responsibility undergoes a radical change, not only towards the immediate environment, but towards all living things. This total responsibility is compassion. This compassion acts through intelligence. This intelligence is not partial, individual, separate. Compassion is never partial. Compassion is for the sacredness of all living things."

J. Krishnamurti
Excerpt from The Whole Movement of Life is Learning

Dear Friends,

Krishnamurti asserts that individual survival cannot be achieved by focusing solely on oneself; he underscores the global interrelatedness of human beings and challenges the illusion of psychological separation. He suggests that the desire for separateness is the root of conflict and destruction. By acknowledging this interconnectedness, responsibility undergoes a radical transformation into universal compassion, highlighting the importance of a fundamental change in fostering a sense of care for everyone.

As we prepare for another year of profound exploration in the spirit of inquiry, we are unveiling the theme that will guide our organization's efforts throughout the upcoming months: "The Future of Humanity." The title of this theme originates from a series of dialogues between Krishnamurti and physicist David Bohm, in which they explored the prospects for the continued existence of our world, given our immense capacity for self-destruction. "The Future of Humanity" encapsulates one of the Foundation’s main objectives—to facilitate a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of all living beings.

Within the Foundation, our commitment to fostering the exploration of dialogue, relationship, nature, and the teachings remains unwavering. In addition to the continued stewardship and operation of our centers, we extend our reach to the digital realm, offering channels on online platforms that facilitate dialogues and in-depth inquiries. Our array of online initiatives, some of which include programs, a 24/7 Krishnamurti Radio broadcast, publications, The Immeasurable online magazine, and our social media channels, are accessible to a worldwide online audience.

Next month, immerse yourself in the study of Krishnamurti’s teachings and yoga within a nurturing environment during the Yoga + Inquiry: On Compassion program
. In this weekend retreat, attendees will explore the place of compassion in their lives through contact with Krishnamurti’s teachings (video, audio, and readings) and dialogue. This allows for the possibility of coming to a deeper state of relaxation and integration of the inquiry into compassion which is beyond the intellectual. This program is intended as a space for an embodied process of exploring compassion in our own lives, relationships, and mind.

Another program in November takes place online, titled On Living and Dying. This in-depth program will focus on questions such as Can I stop pursuing what gives me a sense of psychological security? Is it possible to “die” to what brings me pleasure or desire? In this 5-day online workshop, participants will examine what prevents “dying” to—or ending—inward psychological states and what effect this has on our quality of living.

Our last program of the year, On Becoming, is an in-person, in-depth study program at the Krishnamurti Center. This program seeks to address that we have been educated in a culture that emphasizes the self; the concept of a separate self is ingrained in us from the very beginning of our lives. Krishnamurti suggests the very act of looking at and inquiring into our thought processes may be a means to penetrate this separateness. If there is a chance of addressing the problems we are creating, perhaps we first need to look factually at ourselves and our conditioning.

Krishnamurti's teachings offer significant insights and the potential for self-awareness, capable of catalyzing a radical transformation. This fundamental shift, as he articulates, does not emerge from mere intellectual contemplation but rather hinges upon the responsibility realized by each individual. Collectively, our commitment to this responsibility fosters the potential for a more peaceful world. We look forward to continuing on this journey with you, as we delve into "The Future of Humanity.”
