This week, we mourn the loss of Dereck Stafford Mangus, a Baltimore artist and writer who passed away at age 46. Among his many endeavors as an essayist, ardent photographer, and union member, Mangus wrote extensively for Hyperallergic and other outlets about his work as a museum guard.

Also today, Rea McNamara visits the Toronto Triennial and asks the question: Is the exhibition only meant for those “in the know”?

Read on for an ever-changing algorithmic film on Brian Eno, London art workers claiming they were laid off after expressing support for Palestine, and an exhibition on the power of physical touch in New Jersey.
