Plus how to speed up your metabolism
| Do you remember the America's Cup Victory? |
|
This week I broadcast from the Maritime Museum. It was one of the highlights of the year for myself and the Mornings team. It was such a privilege to broadcast from the Maritime Museum with the crew of Australia 2, their families and friends to celebrate the 40th anniversary of winning the Americas’ Cup. It was one of Australia's greatest ever sporting victories which ended a 132 year winning streak. This broadcast stirred up a lot of fond memories as we took a trip down memory lane. Skipper John Bertrand says winning that race was like climbing Everest and reliving the pressure and relief and finally beating the Americans. Team members John Longley and Skip Lissiman talked about how as amateur sailors they got such a prized gig and share some long held secrets. We also met the man who made that famous jacket and got the story about how it ended up on Prime Minister, Bob Hawke. And I got a behind the scenes look at some of the drama with the team’s Media Manager, Lesleigh Green and the political battle over who gets the famous boat. Even the WA Premier popped in to say hi! For all the stories behind the story, take a listen to this America’s Cup anniversary special. Nadia

The abundance of items that take up space around my home — what some would label "clutter" — is for me far from that negatively charged term.
