If you can’t wait for the mail, all 22 Enoch Pratt libraries are distributing rapid COVID-19 home test kits on Saturdays this month from 10 a.m. to noon while supplies last. The bipartisan antitrust bill targeting big tech was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday. If passed, it would prevent large tech firms from giving preference to their own services. A partnership between the SBA and Business Forward, Inc. announced they had launched the Small Business Digital Alliance (SBDA) this week. The initiative is a joint public-private co-sponsorship that will connect small businesses with tech resources to start and expand their ecommerce business to "scale for success." The Federal Reserve shared a 40-page study on a digital dollar, which discussed the potential pros and cons of launching it, and asked for further public comment. Despite advantages in making electronic payment systems more efficient, the study also acknowledged the risks it could pose to financial stability and privacy. Random tech fact of the week Via @browniepoints: “your car's bluetooth broadcasts its unique id into the ether as you drive around. Traffic signals and ez-pass booths use that id to track traffic flow (how long it takes to get from one beacon to the next).”
